The Sculptor

The corset returns. And it's not even pretty.

I so agree with you about the choice of models. How pointless to spotlight a figure-forming garment on someone whose figure is beautifiully formed already, thank-you-very-much?

It's like those swimming costume features they have every summer in magazines about which style suits which figure, big bust, big hips etc, yet all the models are the same slim style.
Because we wouldn't buy anything that we saw modelled on a person overflowing with fat because we all want to buy into the illusion that the product will make us look "better". Even the larger girl catalogues have models of size 14-16 which is not really "fat". LOL - I thought the JC stood for Jesus Christ - doesn't it?

Maybe JC's were only around in hot dusty parts of NSW. Can't imagine you'd ever be able to wear them now with all the safety regulations. And I don't want to see someone overflowing with fat - just a 14 or 16.

JC for Jesus Christ, my first guess. If I must wear shoes, and evidently I must, zoies or sandles are my first choice but these, these I just wouldn't wear 'cause they just look sucky. Very rarely seen them look good on anyone and when they do, it's like with ooooone specific dress. Those spandex suck-ins are all the range amongst Hollywood women, particularly the new moms.

I don't know what zoies are. I can't wear any sort of sandal because my feet are too skinny (unless I have my sister send them from USA) - so those ugly things would be sliding all over me. And they look like your little toe would get stuck between the strap bits.

I hate to think of my post baby stomach flattened into one of those things! lol at the thought, it would be like a flattened flap type thing. Sorry for the visual.

lol, i'll try not to puke at that visual, humorous though it be. zories are flip-flops. i thought it was a commonly-understood word but evidently i'm wrong, only my sister and i and one of my blog neighbors knows it. anywho, one of the actresses who raved about this modern lightweight corset was gwen. paltrow. it's kinda comforting knowing that probably at least half the actresses walking the red carpet don't really look as stunning as they appear when the clothes are off ...
I just saw today on the Today show that the gladiator shoes are in for the fall here too. Whats her name was calling them Mel Gibsons. Not only would your toes get trap between the straps, you'd have to start half hour early to do up the buckles. I got it, how about velcro gladiator shoes?

The reason they use those stick skinny models for that stuff is to make you think that is what you are going to look like when you wear it. My daughter wears them, actually wore them all summer. Good for her, I wouldn't be happy in that. Whats next? corsets?
lol - why the mel gibsons? I thought it'd be more like the russell crowes. Velcro, now that'd be classy.
maybe it was russell crows...you know my memory...i was thinking velcro too. lolololol riiiippppppp
ha ha, yes you know how velcro starts curling on the ends after a while, you'd end up with your ankles stuck together.
[this is good]
lololol you are way too funny! i laughed out loud and the dogs got startled!
[this is good]
lol...^o^
I think the Gladiator shoes look a bit trashy and there's no way I'd wear them. Let's see how many slaves to fashion we can spot this Summer - it might be time for a bit of candid photography!
yes please I'm always up for a laugh
