lioness heart

Well said,Cat. You speak for every parent, and remind us what our parents must have gone through. And no, I don't know anything about New Orleans airport. Thankfully...
The Economist son had an accident in the playground and they put him in sick bay but they didn't call me for ages. When they did they said he had "been hurt" but was fine & just having a lie down. When I got there one look at him told me that something was very wrong with him - he had a broken collar bone!!
Oh - and I have been at New Orleans airport at midnight - no lie, it was fine. But, then I live in a ghetto ....... !!
New Orleans airport at midnight is not so bad. In fact, New Orleans anywhere is fine if you're paying attention to your surroundings and not, like, waving $100.00 dollar bills around.
[this is good]
Oh dear....Joey in Faces in The Mob....that had me crying so hard for so long, I completely lost it, I'm glad I didn't see the lioness one. I can't watch animal docos, I find them so sad, mind you these days the slightest things set me off.

I'm terrified of what's out there for our young people, you sound like I imagine I would be as a mum.
I remember once when Lloyd was about five he told me a boy was bullying him at school and one afternoon I got him to point this kid out and I stormed up to him and told him what a nasty little loser he was and basically threatened him.
I am ashamed to admit it, but I've done the same damn thing. :) And I'd do it again.
I've slept in airports (as well as other strange places) but would not be happy to sleep in the one in New Orleans; in fact I'd try to avoid it.
Tell him if he gets in a jam to come to Alabama and I'll feed him and make him call home! :D
He'll be fine. Just stick to the tourist places and you're good to go.
sweet home alabama - don't think he's going there but he wouldn't turn down your cooking thats for sure.

Well at least it not Zimbabwe - I think that was rated number one place not to sleep at the airport. As he aid - I won't know what he's doing anyway. So even if he says he doesn't sleep there - he still may.

lol - the school sent home a newsletter a few years ago saying that if parents had a problem they were to approach the teacher not the child. I think that was after a woman actually physically assaulted a girl in the toilet block.

Poor Joey - one of those things that really stuck in my mind.

I'm sure you'll be a great mum just like me

Well they said that it has a 24 hour cafe that has large booths that are pretty comfy. By the time he lands at midnight then gets through and gets his luggage - then catches a taxi somewhere it'll be nearly morning. He's really just trying to save money.

lol - they let me lie in that sick bay all afternoon with appendicits

how long if you arrived at the airport at midnight would it be before you had your luggage and were ready to leave?

lol - I'm just focusing on the fact that its not Zimbabwe - that came in at number one place not to sleep.
I believe that dubious honor would go to Papua New Guinea, where killings and gangs are so prolific, you don't want to be there, period.
Yeah it has with me, still breaks my heart thinking of the images.

Thanks on the mum comment :)
